Fighting Proud by Stephen Bourne (Bloomsbury) tells the story of gay men who served in the armed forces and on the home front during the two world wars. As well as citing injustices, it also tells some uplifting tales and blows some prejudices and presumptions clean out of the water. Fighting With Pride (Pen & Sword) is an anthology of stories from service personnel from the late twentieth century as recently showcased in the award winning Forced Out documentary and is edited by Lt. Cdr Craig Jones MBE. Babanango, A Rougher Task (Cranthorpe Millner) is my debut novel, is a historical military fiction with a gay romance storyline, and is set in the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879.
