Back in 2000, I conducted much of my regimental research in what was then The Buffs (3rd Regiment of Foot) Museum collection, housed within The Beaney Institute and Free Library in Canterbury, Kent.

Nearly twenty five years later, the result of that research appeared downstairs in the public lending library collection, as well as Dover, Folkestone, Deal and sandwich libraries. A great honour, and a milestone I can still hardly believe!
